Coaching for Writers

Hi, I'm Jill - your writing coach!

I'm here to partner with you as you navigate the joys and frustrations of bringing your writing dreams to life.

I'm passionate about helping writers find their stride! If you:

  • Dream of finishing a novel but can't seem to do it

  • Have completed your first draft but don't know what to do next

  • Struggle with anxiety over any part of the writing process

  • Find yourself making excuses instead of sitting down and writing

  • Keep getting "stuck" whenever you try to write

  • Feel "less than" and unsure that you can do this

  • Want your writing to be more than just a hobby

  • Seem to have reached a plateau and need a little help getting to the next level

...then maybe it's time for us to work together.

So, how does this work?

We'll start with a free consultation that will help me determine how best to help you. As a published author of fiction, I can help you with story arc, character development, world-building, and even brainstorming your latest idea. As an experienced editor, I am able to help you with grammar, sentence structure, and the overall flow of your writing.

If we "click" and decide to move forward, you've got 3 options:

Our Agreement:

As your coach, I promise to be on your side - talking you through the issues that are holding you back, encouraging you through the tough stuff, and being your cheerleader all the way! As my client, you are committing to putting aside the necessary time to get the work done, even when it's not easy. (That's where my cheerleading comes in!)

During your free consultation, we will discuss your dreams and goals as a writer, as well as getting an idea of the areas in which you feel you need the most help - and how I can help you. I will also advise you on which coaching package will best suit your needs, should you decide to hire me.

WHAT I AM NOT:

1. A BOOK COACH. Book coaching includes project development and marketing, whereas my focus as a writing coach is on the actual writing.

2. AN AGENT. I will not represent your work or pitch it to publishers.

3. A PUBLISHER. I will not publish your work.

4. A COPY EDITOR. Actually, I am - but this is not the definition of a writing coach. If you need editing services, go here

DISCLAIMER: I am not your fairy godmother! The onus of improving and succeeding as a writer is, and always has been, on you. My role is to provide you with the guidance, editorial input, accountability, and encouragement that will help you to make your dreams a reality.
